This design solution required converting a small residence (in miserable disrepair) into a Rectory for up to 6 Catholic priests at St. Victor's Catholic Church in West Hollywood, California.

Scope includes a 2-story addition that also wraps above the existing single story building. Due to adjacent multi-family residential buildings, this project is designed with an inward focus to encourage moments of privacy. Tapered exterior walls with deep-set windows also encourage privacy while providing shade.

The building is organized as a series of simple units that radiate around a central gathering space. Enclosed, exterior green spaces in the front and rear extend the plan of the Rectory to make it seem larger. These two spaces also provide an overlapping, linear organization to an initial radial system.
